Machbarkeitsstudie für 2-Takt-Uniflow für extremes Downsizing von DI-Benzinmotoren
| Zusammenfassung | This project is aimed at a feasibility study of the 2-stroke uniflow DI gasoline engine as a potential candidate to deliver significant CO2 reduction through a highly downsized engine strategy. Unlike the current approach to downsizing using higher levels of boost in 4-stroke engines, the new engine is expected to require less boost, allow less complex cylinder head design, and hence reduced cost. The feasibility study will focus on the computer simulation of the gas exchange process, mixing and combustion, and operating principles. The outcome of this study will determine if further industrial research shall be performed on the DI 2-stroke uniflow gasoline engine. |
